Step 2 - First login to SDS

Once your access request has been processed, an email is sent redirecting new users to this page.

First login

The password sent to you is a temporary password. Before you can do anything else, you need to reset your password. Please read these procedures carefully. You only need to follow these procedures once (and possibly later, if you need a password reset)

  1. Choose a new password. The ECCO is managed part of the Cornell Center for Advanced Computing (CAC) cluster infrastructure. The CAC Wiki provides more detailed instructions on  password rules, etc. Do not follow any of the other instructions on the CAC Wiki.
  2. Change your password via the CAC "My Account" page.

While you are here: Acknowledging the SDS and citing the data

We take this opportunity to ask that you acknowledge the use of resources provided through NSF Grant  #1042181 in your publications and other materials. Suggested acknowledgements:

This research was made possible through the use of Cornell University’s Synthetic Data Server, which is funded through NSF Grant SES-1042181.

Sciences (NISS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the National
Science Foundation (NSF). The purpose of the SynLBD is to provide
users with access to a longitudinal business data product that can
be used outside of a secure Census Bureau facility. The Census Bureau
created version 2 of the SynLBD by synthesizing information on establishments'
employment and payroll, establishments' birth and death years, and
industrial classification. The Census Disclosure Review Board and
