We have compiled and installed Octave for ia64. It is available on VRDC6401, but has not yet been tested. From the Octave website: " GNU Octave is a high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command line interface for solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically, and for performing other numerical experiments using a language that is mostly compatible with Matlab." Interested users can consult the Octave Wiki on compatibility with Matlab.
The SLES9 ia64 and SLES9 x86 RPM package can be downloaded from our software site. This package has not yet been extensively tested, and we appreciate any feedback from users.
These packages require access to the SLES9 SDK, which is available at no cost from Novell. More information can be obtained on Novell Developer wiki.
