The 2009 NSF-Census-IRS Workshop on Synthetic Data and Confidentiality Protection was a great success. 121 registered attendees from 38 different institutions and agencies were present. 17 presentations and keynotes were given over the course of the day. The presentations are available at http://www.vrdc.cornell.edu/news/nsf-census-irs-workshop2009/program/.

On behalf of the NSF-ITR Confidentiality workgroup, John Abowd and Lars Vilhuber would like to thank the sponsors of the workshop: the National Science Foundation (NSF) through Grant SES-0922494, the U.S. Census Bureau's Center for Economic Studies,  the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Additional funding was provided by Edmund Ezra Day Professorship at Cornell University. We would also like to thank Tom Mesenbourg for his opening remarks, Donald Rubin for his closing remarks, and the CES staff for the excellent local organization.
